The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to assist a high profile litigation team in a secondment position with a federal government department for an initial period of 6 months with the possibility of an additional 6 month extension.

The Responsibilities

The role will require the successful candidate to work in the Department’s civil litigation team.

The role will also require the candidate to assist with ongoing and incoming high profile litigation matters.  The secondee will perform a senior role in independently managing their caseload, mentoring junior staff, and assisting the Director and Principal Legal Officer on more complex and strategic matters.

The Requirements

Legal qualifications, a current practising certificate (or the ability to obtain one) and a current minimum Baseline security clearance are essential.

Previous experience working in a federal government civil litigation team managing an independent caseload would be highly regarded.

This is a security assessed positions and the successful candidate must be willing to undergo further checks as required.
